About — How We Verify Casongo Facts
We’re an independent editorial site reviewing online casino operators that accept Ghana players — whether the operator holds a Ghana-domestic GCG licence or an offshore licence (like Casongo’s Curaçao OGL/2024/609/0253). Our editorial position: review the operator honestly and always state the licence jurisdiction plainly. We don’t pretend offshore operators are Ghana-licensed when they aren’t.
Who runs this site
This Casongo Ghana review site is maintained by an independent editorial team focused on the Ghana online-gambling market. The lead author for the Casongo coverage is Yaa Owusu — bio below.
Lead author — Yaa Owusu
Yaa Owusu has reviewed Ghana-facing online casinos and sportsbooks since 2022, with a focus on operator licence verification, payment-rail honesty, and bonus T&C transparency. Yaa’s work prioritises «source or strike» — if a fact isn’t visible on the operator’s own surface or in a primary regulatory document, it doesn’t go on this site as a verified claim. HELD items are marked HELD, not invented.
Our editorial framing — honest about offshore vs domestic licences
The Ghana online-gambling market includes two categories of operator:
- Ghana-domestic licensed: operators on the Gaming Commission of Ghana register (GCG-licensed), subject to direct Ghana regulatory oversight. Disputes route to the GCG.
- Offshore licensed (Ghana-accepting): operators licensed in other jurisdictions (Curaçao, Malta, Gibraltar, etc.) that accept Ghana players via localised surfaces. Disputes route to the offshore licensing body.
Casongo is in the second category — Curaçao-licensed (OGL/2024/609/0253), accepting Ghana players via /en-GH localisation. This is a legitimate licence model used widely across the global online-gambling market. But we don’t pretend Casongo is Ghana-licensed when it isn’t. Every Casongo page on this site states the Curaçao licence honestly. If you want a Ghana-domestic licensed operator, we’ll tell you to choose differently.
How we verify Casongo facts
Our verification process for any fact published on this site:
- Source on the operator’s own surface — facts come from Casongo’s /en-GH site directly. We capture rendered HTML/text via the operator’s own URLs (home, /casino, /promotions, /faq, /about, /payments where public). Facts that don’t appear on the operator’s surface are HELD.
- Cross-check regulatory registers — the licence number, operator company registration and registered address are checked against the Curaçao GCB register and Curaçao company registry independently.
- HELD discipline — if the operator hasn’t published a fact (welcome-bonus wagering, withdrawal timing, KYC document list), we mark it «check with operator on the live site» rather than invent a value. We do not publish guessed numbers.
- Affiliate-disclosure honesty — we earn revenue when readers register and deposit on operators via our links. That commercial relationship does NOT change our verification standard. If an operator deserves a 6.5 verdict, we publish 6.5 — not the 9.0 that would convert better.
What «independent» means here
We’re independent in the editorial sense: operators don’t pre-approve our content, don’t pay for higher scores, and don’t get to remove pros/cons or HELD-item disclosures. We do have affiliate relationships with some operators (including Casongo) — when you click an operator link on this site and register, we earn a commission. That’s how the site is funded.
What this means in practice:
- You should read our reviews critically — assume we have some commercial incentive on every link
- The fact that an operator is featured on this site does NOT mean it’s the best choice for you — read the review, check the licence, decide for yourself
- HELD items are HELD because the operator hasn’t published the fact — not because we’re hiding something
- Bad reviews go up. Casongo gets a 6.5/10 from us, not a 9.0, because of the offshore-licence trade-off — even though a higher score would convert better commercially
What we don’t do
- We don’t publish operator press releases as «news»
- We don’t accept paid placement that overrides editorial scoring
- We don’t link to Aviator-predictor scams, casino-hack guides, or other gambling-related fraud
- We don’t claim an offshore-licensed operator is Ghana-licensed — see the Casongo coverage for how we handle that disclosure honestly
- We don’t run sweepstakes / giveaways that pressure visitors to register on operators
